Why would this new Harding sofa need a slipcover? To protect the upholstery from spills and accidents, of course!
My customer wanted a soil and moisture resistant fabric with contemporary style. We zeroed in on Pottery Barn Performance Tweed, color Graphite.
I was curious about this fabric at first. I rarely use synthetic upholstery fabrics for slipcovers. They are not an ideal choice for many reasons. But to my surprise this 100% polyester tweed worked up nicely in a tailored fit.
I created a double zipper opening on the back for easy on and off.
The Graphite color and tweedy-chenille texture of this slipcover is very similar to the sofa’s upholstery. It fits in beautifully with my customer’s living room color palette. Even her linen throw pillows look right at home. No redecorating necessary!
