Beautiful Blue Slipcovers

August Blues Slipcover Studio

Sherri at August Blues Slipcover Studio made this gorgeous slip for her own wingback chair. I love the indigo floral print. That inky shade of blue draws me in as do so many other shades of blue.

Sherri’s slipcover sparked a search for more inspirational slipcovers in blue. Whether it’s denim, canvas, linen, chenille or a print you can’t go wrong with a beautiful blue slipcover.

  1. What beautiful work you do. I found you while researching slipcovers on Pinterest. I wish you could do work for me here in Australia! I would love to have you work for me, knowing Kalamazoo quite well as I was an exchange student in nearby Shelby back in the 80’s. I remember I arrived in December and went from never having seen snow to my first white Christmas…..I could never have imagined so much snow.

Can I ask what your favourite ticking fabric would be? I love the ticking you used on the wingback chair.

    Thanks.

    1. Hi Lisa — thanks so much for stopping by. This winter is very much like the one you experienced here in the 80’s. It feels like it has been snowing every day for weeks! I’m ready for spring.
The ticking I used on my Wingback chair is the good old fashioned mattress ticking. Over the years I collected yardage from the 60’s and earlier so my slipcover is a combination of vintage ticking fabrics. I like the old stuff because it’s dense and thick. The ticking I find at retail today seems to light weight and limp. I continue my search. –Karen
