Slipcover Copy
Replace your old slipcover with a brand new copy made with washable, natural fiber fabric. You’ll love the transformation!

What is a slipcover copy?
It’s a new slipcover replacement I make by copying your old cover. I take apart your original slipcover to use it as a pattern. It will no longer be usable.
Your old slipcover must be in decent shape, still have a good fit and made from a stable weave fabric such as cotton denim or canvas.
NOT ALL SLIPCOVERS CAN BE COPIED. Below are the types I cannot copy:
- Poorly fitting slipcovers because of extreme shrinkage, large tears, or stretched out areas.
- Slipcovers made from fabric that give or stretch such as linen, matelasse, loose weaves and damask.
- Slipcovers made from plush fabrics including terry cloth, velvet and chenille.
- Slipcovers made from performance fabrics.
How will your new slipcover look & fit?
- Your new slipcover will fit as well as your old one if similar weight fabric is used.
- I copy what you give me, therefore your new slipcover may have some of the same fit issues as your old one. A slipcover copy is NOT a custom pin-fitted slipcover with a perfect fit.
- If I can make minor adjustments to improve the fit, I will call them out.
How is a slipcover copy made?
- All slipcovers are cut and sewn by me in my Michigan home-based workroom. I am not a factory. I don’t contract out any part of your project.
- I preshrink your yardage before I start your project to ensure the bulk of shrinkage is removed.
- I cut apart your old slipcover and use it as the pattern for the new slipcover. I don’t make a new pattern. When I cut out your new slipcover, I make minor fit adjusts to certain areas if possible.
- Your new slipcover seams are stitched smoothly, reinforced where needed, and seam allowances are serged to prevent raveling.
- Zippers, cushion boxing and welt cord are professionally set.
- Skirts are lined if needed.
What are the fabric choices?
I only work with a select group of solid color cotton denim, canvas, linen and hemp, which are listed on my recommended fabrics page. Solid fabrics only. No prints, stripes or checks. I don’t supply fabric. Instead, I have my customers purchase swatches and yardage from the retailers linked on my website.
Is a slipcover copy right for you?
- You have to be ready to let go of your old slipcover. It will no longer be usable after I cut it apart to use it as a pattern.
- You have to be OK with your new slipcover fitting like your old one or slightly different with minor improvements.
- A slipcover copy is a custom-made product and cannot be returned for a refund, an exchange or a remake.
