Paisley Slipcover Makeover
How gorgeous is this paisley fabric?!
The pattern is Mariel Cliffside by Raymond Waites for Mill Creek. Designed for dry clean only upholstery and drapery you would never think this linen/rayon blend would work in a washable slipcover.
It turns out this fabric is slipcover perfect. My customer washed and dried the yardage and we instantly knew the weight, coverage and hand-feel were spot on for her armchair and ottoman makeover.
Both chair and ottoman had a tailored skirt to the floor. Removing them and making a no-skirt slipcover gave these pieces an instant update!
Beautiful! I also wash and dry “dry clean only” fabrics before using them. Not only is it cheaper and easier to maintain, but I prefer a relaxed look.
I agree! I much prefer the look and feel of laundered home textiles over dry cleaned ones.
That fabric is gorgeous – and the price! Beautiful look for that slipcover 🙂 I think I need a red slipcover somewhere…
Thanks, Sheri. It was difficult to part with that slipcover!
I understand – I just finished one that will be hard to let go of 😉
